They are better than regular crayola colored pencils and they can erase. They are bright and you can layer the colors also. I use them with adult coloring books also as well as other art.

Yes and no; the lead has about the same diameter as the colored pencils, but it seems harder, or waxier, than the colored pencils. It&#39;s somewhere between a crayon and a colored pencil really, and they&#39;re messier than the pencils. If you don&#39;t want to be bothered with sharpening, they&#39;re great, but otherwise, I&#39;d stick with the colored pencils.

I love that they are shaped as pencils, but color like crayons

These are very nice for doing coloring of the new shape coloring books for adults. I have both these and the ones that you have to keep sharpening and by far would rather use these. I started doing the adult coloring to help with stress and it really does work.

Great question, erik. Crayola Twistables are very similar to our colored pencils, however, instead of sharpening, simply turn the end to twist up additional lead and allow for more creativity! We hope this helps!

Are these similar to the crayola colored pencils?

Yes they do.  That is what I am using them on.

As long as you don&#39;t have a heavy hand they work great and you don&#39;t sharpen them up in no time like regular color pencils so chances are they will last you a lot longer if you take care of them.

Actually, they are better than a colored pencil. If used in conjunction with a colored pencil, they smooth out the work and provide just the amount of shading you&#39;ll be looking for in an Adult Coloring Book. They perform wonderfully on heavy stock. You&#39;ll love the look once finished. I highly recommend them. In fact, I&#39;m here shopping for the exact item now.

There are Twistable crayons and Twistable pencils. The Twistable pencils are colored pencils.

Great question. Crayola Twistable Colored Pencils have a 2mm lead thickness. Sharpening is not necessary as the lead twists from the plastic barrel. We hope this information is helpful!

These colored pencils are almost a cross between a crayon and a colored pencil…they're great for my older kids to use instead of crayons, and I love that they don't need a sharpener, so they're also great for trips or in the car. Obviously you won't get quite as fine a point on these as you would from a traditional colored pencil, but for most projects in the 5-8 year old age group, these are great. We still keep crayons on hand for the little ones, and regular colored pencils for the older ones, but these are perfect for kids who are ready to “graduate” from crayons!

Perfect step up from crayons!

My 4 1/2 yr old daughters LOVE these! They color everyday and these are their go to crayons. These allow my girls to stay in the lines better and are also great for writing their letters clearly, unlike normal crayon where letters can get smudged and messy looking.

Bought it for 7 y/o. I was tired of sharpening his regular colored pencils only to end up w/ continuous nib breakage & the colored pencils getting shorter & shorter!
This twistables are great! My son loves them & w/ the many color choices. The nibs are not sharp but that's OK..doesn't hinder him fr coloring.

Great Colored Pencils!

I like these better than the colored pencils because you don't have to sharpen them. I just wish it was a finer point but still it colors good. it's smooth on paper. The different colors are nice too.

Bought this product a few months ago for my 2 granddaughters (ages 7-years and 23-monrhs now), I expecialy thought that they'd be easy for the younger granddaughter, but it hasn't worked out. The crayons twist up easily (too easy for little people). These crayons are great for older children.

Not for small children

The only problem I had with these is that the colors aren't on the pencils and even though it's listed on the back,you still can't tell which color is which.Other then that,I like them.

Great colored pencils

Great selection of colors. Great idea for colored pencils. However, the end used for twisting is rather loose for most of the pencils and when trying to color with up upright pencil, the lead will twist itself back in. For some, it helps if keeping the pencil at an angle and not applying a lot of pressure, but I'd like to use all the sides of the lead -- not just one -- and it turns out that i have to twist the lead back out every 5 seconds if I want to use the color.

All looks. Pretty. But pencil itself breaks into many pieces inside the casing, after this you’re unable to use them, so they go in trash…Waste of money.

Won’t buy again

I thought this would be a great product and we brought them home.  The turn the barrel to get the top of the pencil out but if you go to far it will break and also when coloring the top will go back in the barrel, so here you are coloring and you have to stop to twist it again.  The fact you can't refill them is a big waste of money and plastic.  It could be a good product but you have many things to correct on it.
